Prayer of the week
God of the covenant, as the forty days of deluge swept away the world’s corruption and watered new beginnings of righteousness and life, so in the saving flood of baptism your people are washed clean and born again. Throughout these forty days, we beg you, unseal for us the wellspring of your grace, cleanse our hearts of all that is not holy, and cause your gift of new life to flourish once again. Grant this through Christ our liberator from sin, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, holy and might God for ever and ever. Amen
Your prayers are asked this week for:
- All those caught up in the civil war in Syria and for those now living as refugees
- The Anglican Church in Central America and Karen Gorham (formerly archdeacon of Buckingham) as she is consecrated Bishop of Sherborne
- Local teachers for the pressures they face and for those away from teaching due to stress
- Scouts and Guides, and all uniformed organizations for children and young people, and for their leaders.
- Woollerton Court (PR) Haw Lane (Sa)
- Those who are in need in our parish:
- And also further afield for:

Pilgrim Course starts – Thursday March 17th
Meeting at The Rectory, Pilgrim is a major new teaching and discipleship resource from the Church of England. It aims to help create a place where people can explore the Christian faith together and see how it can be lived out each day. Pilgrim takes a different approach to other Christian programmes. It approaches the great issues of faith not through persuasion, but participation in a pattern of contemplation and discussion with a group of fellow travellers. Please come along at 8.00pm with your Bible for the first session which reflects on the attraction of Jesus Christ and what happens when people meet him?
Composting toilet at St. Peter’s Chapel, Owlswick
St. Peter’s now benefits from a composting toilet complete with heating and a light! In the next two to three months a new path enabling disabled access to the chapel and toilet will be in place. We have also twinned this toilet and the one at St. Dunstan’s by purchasing two toilets in Nepal to help flush away poverty. Pictures of the toilets can be seen in the respective loos. To twin your own toilet or for further information please log on to www.toilettwinning.org James.

More grass cutters required for the churchyard
In anticipation that spring will be upon us in the next few weeks and with a variety of mowers to choose from we require three or four more people to help cut a small part of the churchyard each. The time commitment is about two to three hours each fortnight during the growing season. If you would like to find out more about what’s involved please speak with James.
More linen ladies/men required
If you would like to join a friendly group who take it in turns to wash and iron church linen please contact Susanne Carr. The linen comprises 4 to 6 handkerchief-sized cloths a week for 2 months. Altar cloths or the vicar's robes are not included! All will be explained and full training given!
