We hope you will appreciate worshipping here with us. Please take away our welcome leaflet on the table for all of our services and activities. Please do make use of the children’s corner in church with books, colouring sheets, toys etc. The 10 o’clock for babies, toddlers, children and young people meet in the church hall during the 10.00 am service where coffee and squash is served afterwards.

God of life, source of all faith, through the waters of baptism you have raised us up in Jesus and given us life that endures. Grant this through Jesus Christ, the resurrection and the life, who lives with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, holy and mighty God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Service to ‘swear in’ the new churchwardens
Known as the ‘Archdeacon’s visitation’ Johanna and Margaret will be sworn in as churchwardens at a service at St. Mary’s, Princes Risborough on Thursday May 9th at 7.30 pm. If you would like to support them by attending the service please can you let one of them know by Tuesday April 30th. James

Talk on Bell ringing, Thursday May 9th at 7.30
As part of the Fellowship Programme of Events there will be a talk on the art of bell ringing in the church hall and an opportunity to see the bells being rung in the church. All are welcome.

Spring Concert in church, Saturday 18th May, 7.30pm

Manor House Music will play popular classics by Mozart, Vivaldi, Holst, Debussy, Bach etc. Tickets £10 from Sally’s Sewing Box, Duke Street, Princes Risborough, Johanna Powell 01844 343996 or www.ticketsource.co.uk/st-dunstans-church Raffle and complimentary glass of wine/soft drink

St. Dunstan’s Village BBQ, Sunday May 19th
12 noon for 12.30 with award winning and locally sourced ‘pulled pork’, sausages and burgers from Orchard View Farm. Tickets are £8 (children 18 and under £2). A complimentary drink will be served. Tickets are available from Susanne Carr 01844 346827. Please advise in advance of any special dietary requirements e.g. gluten free, vegetarian etc. Please bring a chair to sit outside if fine weather. A list is now up in the porch for people to sign if they can provide a salad or dessert.
 
A Day Trip to Winchester and its Cathedral, Wednesday August 7th
There has been exceptional demand for places for this trip which is now fully booked. Occasionally people cancel their booking so if you are interested in coming on the trip please let me know and I will put you on a reserve list. James

Safeguarding – Online Course
The Church of England is encouraging everyone to become more aware of the potential risks and harm to young people and vulnerable adults. Everyone is invited to log onto a short basic awareness course (C0). This will help improve the understanding of abuse and help to build a culture of informed vigilance within the Church. The course is very straightforward to access, and should take no more than an hour to complete. It doesn’t have to be completed in one go but can be done in stages if preferred. Fun Day (September 6th) organisers required
The Fun Day is scheduled for September 6th but owing to the many other activities already organised by the events team at least two new additional volunteers are required to run the fun day if it is to take place this year. If you are interested in taking on one of these lead roles please let James know.

Today we celebrate Palm Sunday, the day when Jesus rode into Jerusalem to be hailed king by the crowds, less than a week before he was nailed to the cross, presumably with the same crowds standing by. Learning the lesson of history, today let us worship and praise Jesus as Lord of all our days and ways.

We meet with other local churches in the Whiteleaf Cross car park at 6.00 am for a short ‘sunrise service’ that starts at 6.10 am above Whiteleaf Cross. This is followed by a bacon sandwich and hot drink.

The Festival of Prayer 2019
This excellent event is organised by the Bible Reading Fellowship with the Diocese of Oxford. It is being held on Saturday 6 July 2019, Ripon College, Cuddesdon, Oxford, OX44 9EX. The cost is £33 per person with a variety of workshops to choose from. The Festival of Prayer aims to enhance your spiritual life by offering different approaches to Christian spirituality.
