Confirmation ‘Classes’
A number of people have recently expressed an interest in being confirmed in the Church of England. If you (or your son/daughter) would like to consider this please contact the parish office on parishoffice@stmarysrisborough.org.uk. The ‘classes’ usually involve a couple of sessions lasting approximately two hours each. 


Candlelight Concert: Saturday 4th January at 7pm
The Chandos Ensemble return for an evening of music by Vivaldi, Handel and Corelli. Tickets £8 – accompanied children(under 18) £3, available from Penny 07762 880219 or Sally’s Sewing Box, Duke St., Princes Risborough or www.ticketsource.co.uk/st-dunstans-church . Complimentary glass of wine/soft drink included.

Volunteers needed to sit in on the odd 10 O'Clock Club session
We have about 8 sessions in 2020 when we need an extra adult to sit in the with the leaders as an observer, to meet our safeguarding obligations.  You will not be required to do anything other than be an extra body in the hall.  Whilst I do not have the exact dates yet, if you are interested please get in touch.  Cathy 343226  cathy.farquhar@btinternet.com

Third Sunday of Advent


The long wait for God’s renewal of creation will be over  when everything and everyone experiences new possibility – so come, let us join with all life to worship God.

First Reading: Isaiah 35 v 1-10
It is in the landscape and the bodies of the overlooked people that God’s redemption will be seen.

Second Reading: James 5 v 7-10
James calls for people who long for the change that God’s coming kingdom will bring to be patient, like farmers who must wait for the crop to grow.

Gospel: Matthew 11 v 2-11
John the Baptist has to be patient as he waits in prison for God’s kingdom and Jesus tells him it will be just as Isaiah has said – seen in the bodies, the lives, of those considered least.

Pulpit Conservation
Over the past few weeks the pulpit has been carefully and lovingly conserved by Cliveden Conservation to ensure that the essential features and colours are not lost to future generations. A decorative metal band is also being conserved for St. Peter’s Chapel which will be remounted once the structural investigations there and any remedial work have been completed.

    Better Together: Saturday 14th December in the Church Hall<br /> James' resignation was a shock to all of us and we are all feeling a sense of loss: a bereavement. To help us come, to terms with it, Rob is convening two sessions to give us the opportunity to talk it through. They will be on Saturday 14th December in the hall: the first session from 10 - 11.30am, the second from 2 - 3.30pm.lf you would like to join in, it would help Rob greatly if you could sign the list in the porch, preferably by Sunday 8th.
