As we continue through Advent we hear the call of John the Baptist to prepare the way for the Lord. We offer our lives to the God who meets us with tender compassion and great mercy.

    Confirmation 'Classes'
    A number of people have recently expressed an interest in being confirmed in the Church of England. If you (or your son/daughter) would like to consider this please contact the parish office on parishoffice@stmarysrisborough.org.uk. The 'classes' usually involve a couple of sessions lasting approximately two hours each.

    Sponsorship required
    My daughter Ellie has taken part in a sponsored hitchhike from Sheffield - she is a student at the university - to Glasgow to raise funds for the Snowdrop project (to support survivors of human trafficking); Molly's Fund (a mental health charity); Target Housing Sheffield and Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust.     Christmas Concert with the Chinnor Silver Band
    This will take place on Wednesday December 11th at 8.00 pm.     Better Together: Saturday 14th December in the Church Hall<br /> James' resignation was a shock to all of us and we are all feeling a sense of loss: a bereavement. To help us come, to terms with it, Rob is convening two sessions to give us the opportunity to talk it through. They will be on Saturday 14th December in the hall: the first session from 10 - 11.30am, the second from 2 - 3.30pm.lf you would like to join in, it would help Rob greatly if you could sign the list in the porch, preferably by Sunday 8th. Thank you.

    Candlelight Concert: Saturday 4th January at 7pm
    The Chandos Ensemble return for an evening of music by Vivaldi, Handel and Corelli.     Advent Craft Fayre
    Many thanks to all who helped to make the Advent Craft Fayre such a success. A total of £850 was raised as a result of your efforts. Well done.
