Prayer of the Week
Bountiful and compassionate God, you place in the hands of your disciples the food of life. Nourish us at your holy table that we may bear Christ to others and share with them the gifts we have so richly received. We make this prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.

Your prayers are asked this week for:

  • Adequate treatment and supervision of those with mental health problems
  • Those involved in the development of medical treatments that these may be balanced with due regard to ethical issues
  • The rest, relaxation and enjoyment of those on holiday
  • The victims of nuclear and chemical disasters
  • Hospital chaplains and chaplaincy volunteers at Stoke Mandeville, High Wycombe and Amersham.
  • Millstream Close (PR) Greenlands & Woodfield (LG)
  • Those who are in need in our parish:
    • Joan Ballance, Pam Johnson, Eddie Evans
  • And also further afield for:
    • Alastair, Katy, Georgina Cole, Ginny Gibbs, Rob, David Dewick, Alex Chauhan and Cathy Owen
  • The recently departed:
    • John Keane, Eileen Spittles and Sylvia Benifer
  • Those whose anniversary of death falls at this time:
    • Michael Cotter, Florence Darkins, Ernie Adams, Peg Norris

Please remember the charities that the parish supports:

Do you have 30 minutes to spare?
There is the opportunity to hold a lunchtime/after school club at Monks Risborough School starting in September. We need to create a team of volunteers to make this happen. If you enjoy working with children and enjoy playing games, making craft items, singing etc. please let James know. The exact time and date is still to be decided upon according to the availability of volunteers but Monday lunchtime is certainly one possibility.

Stewardship Response
Thank you to everyone who has responded to or considered this initiative. In total there have been 25 responses with 3 offers of practical help, one off donations totalling £1605, notification of three future legacies and additional regular giving of just under £200/month. James
