Second Reading Romans 12:1-8
True worship is about allowing God’s mercy to renew our minds and transform our lives – then we will be able to know and do the right thing.

Prayer of the week
Living God, you sent your Son among us to reveal your wisdom and make known your ways. Increase our faith, that we may confess Jesus as your Son, take up his work on earth, and trust his promise to sustain the Church. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.

  • The setting up of a Christian club at Monks Risborough School and those considering confirmation

Confirmation

A Confirmation Service will be held at St. John’s Church Lacey Green on September 24th at 6pm. If you (or your son/daughter) would like to consider being confirmed please contact James. Confirmation is traditionally seen as the entry point to receive Holy Communion as a person ‘confirms’ for themselves the promises made on their behalf at their Baptism. Preparation sessions will take place in the church hall on Friday September 8th and 15th from 5-7pm. James

Harvest Festival Lunch – October 1st
This will be held in the Scout Hall in Courtmoor Close, Monks Risborough at 12:30pm. Tickets are available from Rachel Ungi (01844 761535) or Susanne Carr (01844 346827): adults £6, children 18 or under £3.

Pilgrimage to the Holy Land, 16th – 25th April 2018
James and Ann are going on a 10 day pilgrimage to the Holy Land ‘following in the footsteps of Jesus’ organised by Lightline. It is a very rewarding experience. Details of the pilgrimage can be found on table by the south door.

Do you have 30 minutes to spare?
There is the opportunity to hold a lunchtime school club on Mondays from about 12.30/45- 1.15 at Monks Risborough School for children aged 5 -7 (classes 1 and 2). We need to create a team of volunteers to make this happen. If you enjoy working with children and enjoy playing games, making craft items, singing etc. please let James know.
