The Junior Church (10 o’clock Club) meet in the Church Hall before coming into Church for the Communion on October 10th and 17th.
Coffee and tea are served in the Church immediately after the 10.00am service on October 10th and 17th - all are welcome.

Prayer for the week
O God, our life, our health, our salvation, look with mercy on your people. Stir up in us a saving faith, that believing, we may be healed, and being healed, we may worthily give you thanks.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.

First Reading Genesis 32:22-31
Jacob wrestles all night with a man who damages his hip. When the man has gone, Jacob calls the place Peniel, because he realises that he has seen God face to face, and lived.
Second Reading 2 Timothy 3:14 – 4:5
Paul urges Timothy to proclaim the message and be persistent and patient. He warns him that people will start to stray away from the truth towards myths, but advises Timothy to carry out his ministry fully.
Gospel Luke 18:1-8
The story of the importunate widow and the unjust judge. The widow repeatedly petitions the judge for justice against her opponent, until eventually he becomes tired of her pestering and grants her wish.

Prayer for the week
Lord, tireless guardian of your people, always ready to hear the cries of your chosen ones, teach us to rely, day and night, on your care.
Support our prayer lest we grow weary. Impel us to seek your enduring justice and your ever-present help.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.

Your prayers are asked for:
 The Commonwealth Games in Delhi; the miners trapped underground in Chile; peace in the Middle East and those travelling there as a place of pligrimmage
 All those involved in the farming, manufacturing, distribution, hygiene and quality control of the food and drink we enjoy.
 Those considering confirmation and those recently confirmed; those preparing for marriage and those recently married.
 Conservation areas: The Chiltern Society and other similar groups.
 Those living in Aylesbury Road, Abbeyfield House, Dovecote Close, Boxer Road, Brimmers Road, Meadle, Court Close and Culverton Hill.
 Those in need who are known in our parish
 and also further afield
 For the recently departed
 Those whose anniversary of death falls at this time

Please remember the charities that St Dunstan's supports, in particular this week:
Risborough Cares Charity, assisting those in the locality who have mental health, learning or physical disabilities or who are elderly.

St Dunstan's Fellowship- October 21st 8.00pm- 'Hidden Masters in Tate Britain'
This talk in the Church Hall will be given by our Art Historian in Residence - Susanne Carr. This promises to be a very informative and entertaining evening. Visitors welcome. Don't miss out !
The Bethany House Group
The new season of the Bethany House Group starts on Tuesday October 19th at 76 Westmead, Monks Risborough from 10.30 ~ 12 noon, for 12 weekly sessions to study The Acts of the Apostles: the Early Church and the Spread of Christianity. All are welcome, so please do contact either Su Viney (275461) or Jill Iredale (346488) by the 5th October so that a copy of the book may be bought for you (cost: £5)

‘Living in Hope’
A course is being run across the new few months to explore the Christian understanding of ‘Hope’. The course will use a DVD and group discussion to unpack themes such as death, resurrection and creation. The first session will be held on Thursday October 21st at the Rectory, Mill Lane starting at 8 pm and finishing at 9.30 pm. More details can be found in the October/November magazine.
