God’s plan is to gather up all things in Christ, in the fullness of time.

Second Reading John 1:10-18
John’s Gospel sets the coming of Christ in its cosmic context, proclaiming him as the source of all creation. John the Baptist was sent by God to witness to Christ, so that all might believe in him. Many rejected him, but those who believed were adopted as children of God.

Prayer for the week
God of the covenant, you anointed your beloved Son with the power of the Holy Spirit, to be light for the nations and release for captives.
Grant that we who are born again of water and the Spirit may proclaim with our lips the good news of his peace and show forth in our lives the victory of his justice.
We make our prayer through Jesus Christ, your Word made flesh, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, in the splendour of eternal light, God for ever and ever.

Christmas Thank you
Thank you to everyone who helped to make the Christmas season such a success at St. Dunstan’s and St. Peter’s. It was a real team effort and I appreciate all the time and effort made by those who helped decorate the churches, sung, played or rung at the various services, acted as sidespeople or provided refreshments to name just some of the roles that people performed. Despite the difficult weather, overall attendance was up on previous years. With my best wishes for the New Year. James

‘Living in Hope’
The course uses a DVD and group discussion to explore the Christian understanding of hope through themes such as death, resurrection and creation. The next sessions will be held on Thursday January 13th at The Rectory, Mill Lane and Thursday January 20th at 8 Kings Oak Close starting at 8 pm and finishing at 9.30 pm. James

Evensong on the third Sunday of the month
From January we shall be welcoming St. Mary’s choir from Princes Risborough and their small congregation to this service whilst their church is being renovated. The format of the service will remain the same except for the addition of an anthem. I hope you enjoy this new choral experience. James
