Prayer for the week
From our earliest days, O God, you call us by name.
Make our ears attentive to your voice, our spirits eager to respond, that, having heard you in Jesus your anointed one, we may draw others to be his disciples.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.
Your prayers are asked this week for:
- An end to organised crime and drugs in Mexico that has that cost almost 50,000 lives in the last 5 years
- Progress in tackling the budget deficit and unemployment in this country
- All those affected by the HS2 decision
- The mission, ministry and congregational life of St John’s Church, Lacey Green.
- Relate and all counsellors for couples undergoing difficulties in their relationships.
- Residents of Kings Oak Close, Long Meadow Close (MR), Claydon Place (L) and Clifford Road (PR)
- Those in need who are known in our parish:
- and also further afield for:
- Gordon Haynes; Christine; Joan Male; Richard Irvine; Emma, Matt and Olivia; Sarah and Matt; Sally Maddox, Sylvia Jackson
- Those whose anniversary of death falls at this time particularly:
- Charles Rutland, Neil Campbell, Bill Ballance.
Please remember the charities that St Dunstan's supports, in particular this week:

Congratulations – MBE!
The director of the Whitechapel Mission, Tony Miller has been made an MBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours. Now in his 30th year at Whitechapel, Mr Miller said the award was a “fantastic honour” and he was looking forward to a really special experience at Buckingham Palace. “I am grateful to all those who work, volunteer, support and serve the Whitechapel Mission, as they are the true deservers of this recognition,” he said.
