Sunday 7th July 2013
Sixth Sunday after Trinity

Jesus said, “Take nothing for the journey.” Well, we bring all kinds of things to this journey of faith: our hopes and fears, joys and sorrows. As we come to the living God, we ask that he takes all that we bring and transforms it into something that has the power and love of God at its heart.

08.00am    Holy Communion
Readings: 2 Kings 5 v 1-14, Luke 10 v 1-11 & 16-20

10.00am    All Age Family Eucharist
Hymns: 108, Our God is a great big God, I can wriggle like a worm, 305, 332
Communion: 555, 67, 88, 386

First Reading   Psalm 66 v 1-8
Shout for joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious.

Second Reading     Luke 10 v 1-11 & 16-20
Having previously sent the twelve disciples on a mission to preach, Jesus now extends the task to seventy followers. They return with joy, having seen the power of God in their hands.

6.00pm    Farewell Service at St. Mary's, for Rev Denise Critchell

Flower Festival
Thank you
to everyone who made this event such a wonderful occasion. It was terrific to see so many people helping out and enjoying the weekend. Money is still being received and there are some expenses to be paid but we hope to have raised in excess of £4,000 to help repair the stonework and bell tower window. There are also now cards available to buy of the various floral displays.

Thank You and Help!
After many years of being on the Church Cleaning Rota, Sally Mortimer has decided to have a rest and pass on the baton to another able person – SO a very big THANK YOU to her and HELP! I need some one to take her place. Anyone who can help will be warmly welcomed. Duties are not difficult; mainly dusting and vacuum cleaning, and we work in twos. The more we have the less number of times a year we are called on to help. Please contact Margaret Pitman 01844 346008 if you can help in any way.

Trip to Salisbury Saturday September 21st
Leaving at 8.45 am from the lay-by in Monks Risborough, a coach trip is being organised to Salisbury Cathedral. As part of the trip there will be a tour round the Cathedral at 12 noon together with the opportunity to attend choral evensong at 5.30 pm. At your leisure you may also wish to view the Magna Carta and/or visit the various places of interest in and around the wonderful cathedral close such as Mompesson House (National Trust); The Rifles Museum, the Salisbury Museum or the Christian bookshop at Sarum College. We shall be leaving Salisbury at about 6.15 pm to return to Monks Risborough at approximately 8.30pm. The cost of the trip is £18 (children £9) which includes entry to the cathedral (cash/cheques payable to PCC Monks Risborough to be passed to James). Please bring a picnic or enjoy the refreshments offered by the cathedral refectory.  If you (and your friends/family) are interested in coming please contact Rev James Tomkins (01844) 275944 jamestomkins@btinternet.com

I can wriggle like a worm, jump like a flea,
growl like a tiger and buzz like a bee.
I can waddle like a duck and sing like a bird.
I am wonderfully made, wonderfully made,
And I thank You God.
I can slither like a snake, run like a hare,
Dive like a dolphin, and hug like a bear.
I can curl up like a cat and dig like a dog.
I am wonderfully made, wonderfully made,
And I thank You God.
I can wriggle like a worm, jump like a flea,
growl like a tiger and buzz like a bee.
I can waddle like a duck and sing like a bird.
I am wonderfully made, wonderfully made,
And I thank You God.
I am wonderfully made, wonderfully made,
And I thank You God.
Our God is a great big God,
Our God is a great big God,
Our God is a great big God,
And he holds us in his hands.    (Repeat)

He's higher than a sky scraper
and he's deeper than a submarine.
He's wider than the universe
and beyond my wildest dreams.
And he's known me and he's loved me
since before the world began.
How wonderful to be a part of God's amazing plan.
