If you like a job which you can do sitting down, please read on…
If you would like to help occasionally with the placing of microphones and operation of the church's sound system during services, either Susanne or Charlie would be delighted to show you how everything works and offer any guidance you might need. It's really quite straightforward and very rewarding, with no previous knowledge or experience required.

Silent Prayer Meeting, Monday February 2nd at 8pm:
We need silence to help us to get a proper perspective on our lives; to hear the still, small voice of God, and to refresh our inner being. All are welcome to these meetings of any faith or none. The meeting starts in the church hall with some simple relaxation exercises, a short passage from the Bible to reflect upon in the half hour of silence, followed by a time of sharing of our experiences if people wish. For further information please contact James.

‘Open House’, Monday 16th February at 8pm at the Rectory
Under the umbrella of “The Jesus lifestyle” we shall continue to look at a DVD about the radical teaching found in the Sermon on the Mount and apply it to the 21st century. The talk this time is ‘How to handle difficult people’. The DVD last approximately 35 minutes and leaves plenty of time for discussion at the end. Everyone is welcome. James

Ash Wednesday
As well as the traditional Parish Eucharist and imposition of ashes at 8 pm on Ash Wednesday at St. Dunstan’s the Bethany House Group is also having an informal home communion at 17 Wellington Avenue, Princes Risborough at 10.30 am. All are welcome to either/both services. For further details please contact James (Parish Eucharist) or Rose Williams (Bethany House Group) 274225.

Lent Courses for 2015
Two courses are on offer this year. The first course is on the Apocrypha, the set of books that sits between the Old and New Testament in some Bibles.  This is a rare opportunity to look at the Apocrypha, which is often shrouded in mystery, under Rob’s experienced guidance.
There is the choice of four sessions on Wednesday mornings, from 10.30 – 12 noon, starting on 4th March at 76 Westmead, Monks Risborough or a one day workshop in the church hall on  Saturday 28th February from 10.00am—4.00pm. Drinks will be provided at the latter but please bring your own packed lunch.
There is a leaflet on the table giving further information. Please complete and return the tear off slip for this by Sunday February 15th to Rob or James.
The second course is based on ‘Spiritual Journeys’. This is being organised by Churches Together in Risborough and takes place on Tuesday evenings at Costa Coffee in Princes Risborough from 7.30 – 9.30 pm on the following dates with the following speakers: 03 March: Anne Harding and Celia Sparkes - Walking the route to Santiago in N Spain. 10 March: Ken and June Brazier- Mercy ships and our journey to Sierra Leone. 17 March: Rev Jim Taylor - A journey to Manila in the Philippines. 24 March: Esther Lever - An adventurous journey with God. Each evening ‘stands alone’ so you do not need to sign up to every session. James.

New Church/Parish Guide – Free introductory offer
A new guide to the church and parish is now available. Written by Jill Eyers with photographs by Hayley Watkins, everyone is welcome to take one free copy before the end of February. The suggested donation for visitors will be £2 with the option to gift aid this amount. James

‘Green Lane’ – creation of a soak-away
You’ll notice that the so called ‘Green Lane’ between the church hall and churchyard has been churned up as a result of some essential groundwork to create a soak-away, We will be working to restore the appearance of this area over the next few months to ensure that the churchyard remains a space of beauty and peace. In the meantime please accept my apologies. James

 Prayer of the Week
God of salvation, in the river Jordan you bathed your Son Jesus in glory and revealed him as your obedient servant. In sprit and in power rend the heavens and come down to us. Strengthen us to acknowledge your Christ, that we who are reborn in his likeness may walk with him the path of obedience. Grant this through Jesus Christ, your Word made flesh, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, in splendour of eternal light, God for ever and ever. Amen.

Your prayers are asked in the coming week for:
