Creator of the heavens, who led the Magi by a star to worship the Christ-child: guide and sustain us, that we may find our journey’s end in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Sunday 14th January

2nd Sunday of Epiphany

As we worship today, we think about how God calls people to meet Jesus and to spread the message of salvation and the coming of the kingdom. We give thanks that we have been called and pray for strength to pass the message on.

God calls the boy Samuel to be a prophet at a time when God seems far from Israel.

John sees in a vision that Jesus is the only person who can break the seals and reveal God’s plan for the coming of the kingdom.

Gospel John 1 v 43-end

From our earliest days, O God, you call us by name.
Make our ears attentive to your voice, our spirits eager to respond, that, having heard you in Jesus your anointed one, we may draw others to be his disciples.  ‘Pop Up’ Cinema: Jungle Book (PG)

The South Door is feeling its age
The south door of the church (the internal door to the church) is 600 years old in parts and is beginning to feel its age. We have put some protective pads to help prevent damage to its hinges as it tends to swing open too freely and then bounce back off the wall. Please open the door carefully and try not to let it swing open unchecked. Thank you, James
