Prayer of the Week
Ever-faithful God, you were well pleased with Abraham’s obedience and you accepted the sacrifice of your Son, who gave himself up for the sake of us all. Train us by Christ’s teaching and school us in his obedience, that as we walk his way of sacrifice we may come to share in your glory. We ask this through Christ, our deliverance and hope, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, holy and mighty God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Your prayers are asked this week for:

More grass cutters required for the churchyard
The time commitment is about two to three hours each fortnight during the growing season. If you would like to find out more about what’s involved please speak with James.

Churchwarden and Deanery Synod vacancy
We need to find a suitable person to be the second churchwarden. The primary role of churchwardens is to be able to attend most of the 10 am services on a Sunday morning and at major festivals, and to have a concern for the church, its people and its buildings. Charlie is very willing to carry on helping out with practical and maintenance issues such as the church boiler and the lawnmowers so this will lighten the load. There is also a vacancy for the Deanery Synod which acts as a link between the local church and Diocese. The synod meets 3 times a year and means that you automatically become a member of St. Dunstan’s Church Council (PCC) which meets 8/9 times each year on a Monday evening. If you are intersted in filling either of these roles please speak with James.
