Sunday 8th April

Second Sunday of Easter

he Lord encourages us to believe and trust right where we are, not in some ideal future. As we worship, let us realise that the God who loves us is with us right here and now.

Communion: 47, 166, 35, 67
11.30am Owlswick Holy Communion

First Reading: Acts 4 v 32-35
The fruits of Jesus’ ministry are seen in the infant Church – in unity, power, grace and generosity.

Gospel: John 20 v 19-end

6.00pm Evensong
First Reading: Genesis 3.8-15
Second Reading: Galatians 4.1-5
Hymns 433, 579, 754
Psalm 85

Prayer of the Week
God of life, source of all faith, through the waters of baptism you have raised us up in Jesus and given us life that endures. Day by day refine our faith, that we who have not seen the Christ may truly confess him as our Lord and God, and share the blessings of those who believe. Grant this through Jesus Christ, the resurrection and the life, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen
