Prayer of the Week
O God of eternal glory, you anointed Jesus your servant to bear our sins, to encourage the weary, to raise up and restore the fallen. Keep before our eyes the splendour of the paschal mystery of Christ, and, by our sharing in the passion and resurrection, seal our lives with the victorious sign of his obedience and exaltation. We ask this through Christ, our liberator from sin, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, holy and mighty God for ever and ever. Amen

Your prayers are asked this week for:

  • Those elected as Churchwardens, PCC and Deanery Synod members at this year’s Annual Meetings
  • Those areas of the world where war and violence are a daily reality such as Syria and Yemen
  • Those facing suicide or who feel desperately alone; for the work of the Samaritans and others who provide support

Fancy an evening out in Marlow?
Following their election as churchwardens, Johanna Powell and Margaret Hunnibell are due to be formally admitted in to their role as churchwardens at a service at All Saints Church, Marlow on Monday May 14th at 7.30pm. Apart from the prospect of an evening walk by the River Thames, if you come along you’ll be showing your support to them in what is always an enjoyable and intriguing service as the office of churchwarden is the oldest elected office in England.
