Prayer of the Week
O God, at whose bidding the seed will sprout and the shoot grow towards full stature; hear the prayer of your assembled people. Make us trust in your hidden ways, that we may pray with confidence and wait for your kingdom now growing in our midst. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.

Your prayers are asked this week for:

  • The victims of the Grenfell Tower Fire following the one year anniversary of this disaster
  • The peaceful holding of the World Cup with thrilling football, well behaved crowds and human rights respected
  • An end to the war and suffering in Yemen
  • Constructive negotiations and wise decisions regarding Britain’s exit from the European Union
  • The waste of people’s lives in the switching of manufacturing from one country to another and those who have been made unemployed by ‘downsizing’.
  • All those taking GCSE, A levels and other  exams
  • Those who protect our heritage and countryside.
  • Willow Way (PR) Bledlow Road & Chiltern View (Sa)
  • Those who are in need in our parish:
    • Joan Ballance, Pam Johnson

Flower Festival
Thank you to everyone who helped to make this such an incredible event. Words are wholly inadequate to capture the creativity and beauty of all of the arrangements and the hard work that went in not only with regard to the flowers but all of the associated activities such as the refreshments, plant stall, raffle and musical programme. A warm and efficient welcome was provided to everyone and people left amazed at the skill and artistry of the flowers. It was lovely too that people could relax in the shade courtesy of our own mini marquee city and take time out to enjoy this community event. Early indications are that the net profit is likely to be around £7,000 but the figures will naturally take a little time to pull together to give a final total. Thank you again for all of your dedication and commitment. James, Gwen, Jenny and Elaine
