Prayer of the Week
In the beginning, O God, your word subdued the chaos; in the fullness of time you sent Jesus, your Son, to rebuke the forces of evil and bring forth a new creation. By that same power, transform all our fear into faith and awe in your saving presence. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.

Your prayers are asked this week for:

Would you like to take advantage of Broughton Church’s narrowboat this summer and autumn?
Imagine cruising along the canal with your family or house group and maybe stopping off for a BBQ or a pub meal. If you would like to book the boat for a day or longer, please call Rev. Phil White on 07725 339 236 or email phil@broughtonchurch.org Keith Woodhead from our own congregation used the boat last year and found it an enjoyable experience. Leaflets are available from the table.

Cream Teas for the Flower Festival & Bucks Arts Week
I would like to thank everyone who helped me serve tea, wash up and make cakes over the three weekends we served refreshments for the Flower Festival and Bucks Art.  We received so many compliments about our beautiful home-made cakes and scones, that our pricing is generous and also the warm welcome given.  We raised almost £2,000, amazing!  Cathy. P.S. There are a number of cake tins/boards left over from the teas that are ready for collection from the church hall.

Sustaining the Sacred Centre: Daily prayer in August
For the last two years, during the month of August, we have provided extra opportunities for us all to meet together for short services and times of reflection lasting about 20 minutes. We choose August because it is, traditionally a quieter month than most and we know from our own experience, that when we create more time to simply ‘be’ with God in the silence of his presence, our spiritual life is sustained and developed. Bookmarks will be given out as a reminder of these services and full details of the services will be printed in the August/September edition of the parish newsletter.
Monday 8.45am Morning Prayer (except Bank Holiday)
Tuesday 6.00pm ‘Service of Reflection’ (at St. Peter’s)
Wednesday 8.45am Morning Prayer
Thursday 8.45am Morning Prayer
Thursday 9.30am Holy Communion
Friday 8.00pm Compline (night prayer)
Saturday 5.00pm Evening prayer
Come Lord, occupy my silent place and make your dwelling there. More grace is found in quietness than we may be aware.
