Prayer of the Week
Almighty God, whose blessed Son restored Mary Magdalene to health of body and of mind, and called her to be a witness of his resurrection: mercifully grant that by your grace we may be healed from all our infirmities and know you in the power of his unending life; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Music, hymns, silence and singing during Communion
There is a diverse range of opinion as to how people prefer to receive Communion. Some people prefer there to be total silence, some prefer listening to quiet music from the organ and/or choir and others prefer to join in with the singing of hymns. All are natural expressions of our faith and there isn’t one size that fits all. I therefore try and take a balanced approach so that each element can be found within this special time and that people are able to ‘commune’ with God in a way that is most meaningful to them. James
Cream Teas for the Flower Festival & Bucks Arts Week
I would like to thank everyone who helped me serve tea, wash up and make cakes over the three weekends we served refreshments for the Flower Festival and Bucks Art. We received so many compliments about our beautiful home-made cakes and scones, that our pricing is generous and also the warm welcome given. We raised almost £2,000, amazing! Cathy. P.S. There are a number of cake tins/boards left over from the teas that are ready for collection from the church hall.
Sustaining the Sacred Centre: Daily prayer in August
For the last two years, during the month of August, we have provided extra opportunities for us all to meet together for short services and times of reflection lasting about 20 minutes. We choose August because it is, traditionally a quieter month than most and we know from our own experience, that when we create more time to simply ‘be’ with God in the silence of his presence, our spiritual life is sustained and developed. Bookmarks will be given out as a reminder of these services and full details of the services will be printed in the August/September edition of the parish newsletter.

Monks Risborough Horticultural Show, August 4th
Have you ever been to our Show? You should come! It is one of the best horticultural shows in the area. But it is also much more than that and provides an afternoon of entertainment for all the family. This is an annual event now in its 110th year. As well as the large marquee where wonderful floral, vegetable and domestic exhibits are displayed and judged there will be a Silver Band, the
ever-popular Tea-tent, a fun Dog Show, Ferret Racing, a Beer Tent and Burger Bar, Children's Rides and entertainment and numerous Stalls offering a wide variety of goods for sale. Stall holders welcome to apply for a pitch. Show opens at 1.00 p.m. and finishes at approx. 4.30 p.m. Rangers’ Football Ground is at the bottom of Peter’s Lane on A4010, Monks Risborough, Buckinghamshire HP27 9LZ
Cleaner(s) required for St. Dunstan’s Church
With the impending ‘retirement’ of the existing two church cleaners there is a vacancy for either one or two people to share this role. The time commitment is about 1-2 hours per week and includes dusting, vacuuming, washing the floor, tidying, emptying bins etc. so that the church environment remains fresh and attractive to visitors. The duties of this role will normally be of a routine and planned nature but there will be a need to show some flexibility in working around services such as weddings, funerals and other social events.
