Jesus welcomed all; had time for all; was willing to reach out to those who thought their situation would remain the same for ever. So come and worship God, knowing you are loved, knowing you are welcome, and knowing that God has something to say to you. Worship him in the knowledge that you are safe, but also that your world might change for ever in his hands.

The Junior Church (10 o’clock Club) meet in the Church Hall before coming into Church for the Communion.

First Reading Isaiah 65:1-9
God has called out to his people, but they have rejected him and sought out other gods. God will cause them to suffer for their faithlessness, but, despite the doom, there is a future message of hope.
Second Reading Galatians 3:23-end
Paul declares the wonderful Gospel: that in Christ, everyone can be called a child of God. There are no barriers of culture, nationality, class or gender; everyone can come to God, whoever they are.
Gospel Luke 8:26-39
Having calmed the storm, Jesus travels with a boatful of astonished disciples to the other side of Lake Galilee where he encounters a wild man, a legion of demons, and a city afraid of change.

Prayer for the week
O God, whose Son, our Messiah and Lord, did not turn aside from the path of suffering nor spare his disciples the prospect of rejection,
pour out your Spirit upon this assembly, that we may abandon the security of the easy way and follow in Christ's footsteps towards the cross and true life.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.

Summer Study Course
“When I survey...Christ's Cross and ours”
This series of studies continues on Thursday evenings in St Dunstan's Church Hall from 8.00pm to 9.30pm. The remaining sessions are being held on: June 24th ‘Into Great Silence’; July 1st ‘The Child on the Cross’; July 22nd ‘Outside a City Wall’; and July 29th ‘Touching the Rock’. No prior Booking is required and you do not need to attend every session but please contact Rev James Tomkins (01844275944) if you would like a course booklet (£3) or for any further information.
Receiving the wine at Holy Communion
I realise that this is a sensitive subject but Bishop John has asked that the practice of communicants intincting (dipping the wafer into the wine) for themselves is discouraged. If you still want to receive an intincted wafer, please ask the celebrant to do this for you. Thank you. James

Open Garden for NGS
Pamela and Edwin Rye are once again opening their garden for the National Garden Scheme. We are open on:-June 20th from 2 to 6pm, on June 25th from 5 to 8 pm and on July 3rd & 4th from 2 to 6 pm. The Whitechapel Mission – June 27th – items required
Tony Miller from the Whitechapel Mission is coming to give a talk as part of the 10am Eucharist on that day. We are hoping to send Tony back with a lot more than he came with. Please can you bring any of the items mentioned below to the service to help with the Mission’s work with poor and homeless people in the East End of London: Pot Noodles, Baked Beans, Squash, Sugar, Plum Tomatoes, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Sliced tinned Mushrooms Rucksacks, T-Shirts, Hand Towels, Men’s Underwear, Men’s Shoes, Socks, Jogging Bottoms and Hand Cream. Triple edition of the pew sheet

The Bible – It’s boring, unbelievable and irrelevant!
This is the title of a summer lecture to be delivered at Holy Trinity, Prestwood on July 2nd at 7.30 pm by Canon David Winter, the former head of BBC religious broadcasting, and a regular on Radio 4’s “Thought for the Day”. Lighthouse Princes Risborough, 26th to 30th July
Helper’s forms are now available. Children’s applications are being distributed via local schools. We are looking for volunteers to coordinate and assist in our drama sessions each day. Please consider volunteering for a security nightshift (10.30 – 7.30) – you do get a chance to sleep! For craft activities, please start collecting: jam jars, wallpaper, old birthday cards, magazines and catalogues, insides of kitchen rolls (not toilet rolls!).
