Prayer for the week
Lord God of all the ages, the One who is, and was, and is to come,
stir up within us a longing for your kingdom, steady our hearts in time of trial, and grant us patient endurance until the sun of justice dawns.
We make our prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.

Your prayers are asked this week for:
 All who have given their lives in the wars of the twentieth century and in more recent conflicts: that their memory may inspire us always to work for peace in our world
 The people of Haiti, especially those still living in refugee camps following the earthquake; for those affected by the outbreak of polio in central Africa
 The Christian people of Iraq, and for those throughout the world who face persecution and violence on account of their faith.
 All who face hardship and the loss of their work or income as a result of economic cuts
 Human Resources Departments of large organisations and their responsibility for the well being of their staff.
 Princes Risborough, Saunderton and Whiteleaf Golf Clubs.
 Those living in Orbell Court (Princes Risborough) and Grubbins Lane (Speen).
 Those in need who are known in our parish
 and also further afield
 For the recently departed
 Those whose anniversary of death falls at this time
Please remember the charities that St Dunstan's supports, in particular this week:
Christian Blind Mission, an international Christian development organisation committed to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the poorest countries of the world.

The next sessions will be held on Monday November 22nd at The Camp, Little Kimble, Thursday January 13th at The Rectory, Mill Lane and Thursday January 20th at 8 Kings Oak Close starting at 8 pm and finishing at 9.30 pm. More details can be found in the parish magazine. It is not essential to come to all of the sessions. James

Remembrance Sunday, today at 10 am
This service provides another time to remember those who have given and continue to give their lives in the service of others. The service at St. Dunstan’s includes the laying of wreaths, a roll call of those who have died and a two minute silence. This is followed by a further Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial on the corner of Mill Lane/Aylesbury Road at about 11.15 am. These acts of Remembrance are being held jointly with St. Peter’s Chapel, Owlswick

From Fauré to Flanders and Swann 20th November at 7.30 pm in the church
An evening of fine music and fun: tickets, at £20 and £15, include wine and canapés and may be obtained from Douglas Miller (343206) or David Shuttle, 6 Duke Street, Princes Risborough.

Plea for help
After about 25 years - yes really! - Harry and Diana Mullens have decided to give up arranging for the distribution of the Newsletter from the beginning of 2011 and we are looking for a volunteer to take over this important church function. The work entails preparing the copies into bundles for the individual distributors, taking most of the bundles into church for church members to collect and distribute, and the remainder to local distributors who may not attend church. This operation occurs six times a year.
Please would anyone willing to consider taking on this work to contact David Kemp at Windleshaw, telephone 01844-344097 or email david@windleshaw.demon.co.uk. Thank you.

Hody's Charity
This was set up in 1706 by a former Rector of the parish in his will. Grants may be given for books, specialist materials, outfits, tools, fees etc for students in Further or Higher Education or Apprentices. Applicants must be residents of Monks Risborough and under 21 years old at the time of the first grant. To apply please complete a form from the porch notice board or contact Rosemary Woodward-Court Tel 344417

Advent Craft Fair November 27th 10.00-12.00 in Church
We shall be needing some cakes and produce and refreshment/stall helpers. We shall also need people to set up the afternoon before. Please let Rosemary know if you can contribute in these ways and sign the poster in the porch. If you can help with potting bulbs please contact June Timms Tel 344966

Ready, Steady...Slow
For every day of December until the 24th, this 'alternative' Advent Calendar includes a reading, a prayer, a reflection, and a challenge to take a small step towards living more simply, £4.80. In similar vein we also have some copies of 'Do Nothing Christmas is coming' for £5.00 both at the back of the church.

Do you enjoy singing?
If you are interested in singing as part of the choir for the nine lessons are carols service on December 19th at 6 pm please come along to the choir practice from 6.30 to 7.30 pm on Thursday evening. All singers of any standard are welcome. The pieces that have been chosen are fun to sing and fairly easy to learn. James

Risborough Town Centre – switching on of lights
On December 3rd Churches Together in Risborough are starting off the carol singing at 6 pm. All are very welcome to come along and sing. A market barrow is also being organised by the Revd. Denise Critchell. She would value help regarding gifts for children e.g. Christmas Biscuits, and help to cut out some shapes, i.e. stars, cribs etc. to put on the prayer tree on the night with ribbons. If you can help in this way or have other ideas for a Christian presence in the High Street in Advent please let Denise know (347741)
