The 3rd Sunday after Trinity
Jesus preached a new kingdom – a kingdom of love – and we come to celebrate all that it means. For one moment, set aside your questions, your doubts, your prejudices and your fears. Come into the presence of the king of heaven, and sing the praises of the one who has the power to transform both us and the world around.

First Reading Isaiah 55 v 10 - 13

Paul explains how we are irrevocably bound to God through the Spirit of his Son.
Gospel Reading Matthew 13 v 1-9 &18-23
Preaching from the boat in the lake, Jesus offers the crowds a series of parables about the kingdom of God. He begins with the parable of the sower.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.

First Reading Isaiah 44.6-8
Through Isaiah, the Lord God declares himself to be the one God, redeemer and rock. He is drawing a contrast with idols made by human hands.

God’s people are to live lives led not by the flesh, or by fear, but by God’s Spirit.
Gospel Reading Matthew 13.24-30 & 36-43
Jesus tells a parable about good crops and weeds, which is followed by an interpretation.

Prayer for the week
O God, patient and forbearing, you alone know fully the goodness of what you have made. Strengthen our spirit when we are slow and temper our zeal when we are rash, that in your own good time you may produce in us a rich harvest from the seed you have sown and tended. We make our prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit God for ever and ever.

Health Safety officer required
We need someone to assume a role that enables us to help ensure that the church premises are a safe place in which to worship and enjoy. No previous experience or knowledge of health and safety is required just a willingness to spend a little time highlighting potential hazards and seeing what corrective action (if any) might be taken. If you are interested in this role please have a chat with James
