Second Sunday of Easter

The risen Jesus has promised to be with his people always.  As we gather in this name, we offer him our worship, confident of his presence.

The Gospel Reading      John 20: 19 - end
The resurrected Jesus appears twice to his disciples, bringing them peace and joy.  On his second appearance he resolved the doubts of Thomas, the disciple previously absent, and blesses those who believe without having physically seen him.

New Collection Bags

Following a recent discussion at the PCC a generous donation has been made of four new collecting bags that we can use alongside our existing bags. The new bags have a wider aperture for gift aid envelopes.

Funeral of Marjorie Browne
This will take place at St. Dunstan’s at 2.30 pm on Friday April 5th.The family are preparing a tribute about Marjorie and people are very welcome to forward on their memories of Marjorie that can then be included in the tribute. These should be sent by TODAY to David Browne at 4 Elm Grove Road, Topsham, Exeter, EX3 0BW or dbrowne28@btinternet.com

Soup, Glorious Soup!
We raised £111 for Christian Aid at our Soup Lunch.  This could fund a bicycle in Sierra Leone, for human rights monitors to reach communities there, for materials to construct three emergency shelters in India, for two courses of antibiotics in Gaza and for a set of farming equipment in Zimbabwe.  Thank you to our lovely soup-makers and to every body who came along.

Altar Server(s) required
We are very fortunate that Sheila is here for most weeks of the year but occasionally she is away and therefore it would be good to recruit one or more extra people to fulfil this role. If any adults or children would like to know more about what’s involved please speak with either James or Sheila.

Fellowship Meeting 11th April 8.00pm – Church Hall
Pat Trunkfield will discuss Spring Flower Arranging.  Husbands and Friends welcome.

The organ is being cleaned
If everything falls in to place then we hope to have the organ cleaned beginning on Monday April 15th. This will mean for the services on Sunday April 21st the Clavinova will be used.  This is the first time that the organ will have been cleaned for about 15 years and we should benefit from a better sound after it has been done.

Spring Concert, Saturday April 20th 7.00 pm
The musicians from the Trio D’Hiver are back by demand playing a popular programme of classical music including pieces by Beethoven and Dvorak. Tickets are £8.00 (special deals apply) from Pat Kimber Tel 273942 or David Shuttle in Princes Risborough.

Annual Meetings April 23rd at 8 pm
Reports will be available for the annual meeting from  April 7th from the church. Please make every effort to attend this meeting. As well as a presentation on the archaeological dig and churchyard extension there will be an initial conversation about how we continue to grow as a church bearing in mind the allocation of clergy to the Risborough Team in the future.
