Prayer for the Week
O God, your name is veiled in mystery, yet we dare to call you Father; your Son was begotten before all ages, yet is born among us in time; your Holy Spirit fills the whole creation, yet is poured forth now into our hearts. Because you have made us and loved us and called us by name, draw us more deeply into your divine life, that we may glorify you rightly, through your Son, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.

Your prayers are asked this week for:

  • The safety of people in our armed forces both at home and abroad; for families and friends coping with the bereavement of a loved one
  • all those in Oklahoma who have been affected by the recent typhoon
  •  all Company Directors and Board members, for the decisions they make on behalf of the economy and workforce
  •  churchwardens and those involved in serving and leading local churches
  •  the archaeological dig and plans to extend the churchyard at St. Dunstan’s
  •  Those who live on farms and in isolated areas and also in Shootacre Lane (PR) Springwood (Sp)
  •  Those in need who are known in our parish:
  •  and also further afield for:
    • Joan Male, Bill Male, Richard Irvine, Alastair, Marion Mullens

Lighthouse Shine Out
It’s getting towards that time of year again when Lighthouse begins to shine about what we have planned for the children of the parish! Our next event this year is Lighthouse Lunch on 21st June at 12pm in the Oasis Centre. Tickets are £20 and include a 2 course meal, coffee and wine and great company. This was a resounding success last year so please make sure you get your tickets well in advance from Melanie Calver (07808 765 029). We are also calling on our wonderful cake makers! We rely solely on donations to ensure we can provide Lighthouse Week free of charge to all children who want to come and one of our biggest incomes is from selling all your lovely cakes during the week in our cafe. So please – if you can make a cake let Melanie Calver know your details including name, contact number and type of cake.
And last but not least...we need adults who are prepared to lead one or two Fiesta sessions in the evenings for the teenage helpers. All the preparation will be done for you, so please if you can spare 3 hours to lead our teenagers through some fun activities we would very much like to hear from you! Lighthouse week runs from Monday July 29th to Friday August 2nd.
