Prayer for the Week
Almighty Father, whose will is to restore all things in your beloved Son, the King of all: govern the hearts and minds of those in authority, and bring the families of the nations, divided and torn apart by the ravages of sin, to be subject to his just and gentle rule; who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Your prayers are asked in the coming week for:

  • All those who serve in our armed and emergency services, that they may be peacemakers, defending the defenceless
  • Those how have died in warfare and those who have been left behind
  • Peace in all countries where there is fighting and bloodshed, remembering especially Iraq, Syria, the Middle East and Nigeria, that there may be an end to the suffering and injustice experienced by innocent victims of conflict
  • MIND and all who seek to understand the large minority of our society struggling with their mental health.
  • The participants of The Bledlow Fun and Pre-School Clubs
  • Those who live in Mount Way (PR) Woodway & Kiln Lane (LG) Slad Lane (Sp)
  • Those who are in need in our parish:
  • And also further afield for:
    • Joan Male, Bill Male, Alastair, Matt Elworthy, Uncle Frank, Katy, Albert and Georgina Cole, Susan Parkin, Lynn Marshall
  • The recently departed:
    • Alex Smith and Peggy Howes
  • Those whose anniversary of death falls at this time: Pam Gordon.

Please remember the charities that the parish supports:
Tearfund, working in partnership with Christian agencies and churches worldwide to tackle the causes and effects of poverty

"What are you waiting for?"
This Quiet Day offers an opportunity to stop in the middle of our Christmas busy-ness and prepare for the coming of Jesus. Using readings from Isaiah we discover how God fulfilled His purpose for us by sending His Son. Our reflections will be led by Rev. Rose Williams and we hope there will be opportunity to visit the award winning Chapel at Cuddesdon during the day.  The quiet day is open to all, and will be held at Ripon College Cuddesdon on Saturday 15th November, from 10.30am to 3.30pm. The cost is £10 per person and covers morning coffee and afternoon tea, please bring your own packed lunch. Where possible we will try to organise car sharing, but there is ample car-parking on site. To reserve your place, please phone Rose Williams on 274225.

The Friendship Group
We meet in the church hall on the third Wednesday of the month at 2.30 pm. The next meeting is Wednesday 19th November. All welcome!

Drop in
Bereavement can be an isolating and painful experience accompanied by feelings of hopelessness and despair. At St Mary’s Chapter House, Princes Risborough a new group provides a relaxed and informal place to meet, chat and come together to support one another and is for those of any faith or no faith at all. The group will meet on the first Monday of each month December 1st. If you wish to know more or know someone who may appreciate such a group, please contact Rose Williams. 274225

At 9.00 am on Saturday December 6th we are looking to clear the fallen leaves from the churchyard, to carry out some general tasks such as pruning trees and maintaining paths, and to plant the new hedge in the churchyard extension. We can provide some tools but if you can bring any yourself that would be extremely helpful. James
