Prayer of the Week
O God, who alone can probe the depths of the heart, you hear the prayer of the humble and justify the repentant sinner. As we stand before you, grant us the gift of humility, that we may see our own sins clearly and refrain from judging our neighbour. We make this prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.

Your prayers are asked for:

  • And end to the hostilities and suffering in Syria, Yemen, Iraq and other troubled parts of the world
  • The care and rehabilitation of prisoners and young offenders
  • An end to waste of food in our nation, for those who imaginatively recycle food for the benefit of all
  • Office workers and managers.
  • Place Farm Way (MR) Hawthorn Road & The High Street (PR)
  • Those who are in need in our parish:
    • Joan Ballance, Pam Johnson, Richard Allwood, Pat Kimber
  • And also further afield for:
    • Alastair, Katy, Georgina Cole, Robert, Dave Skinner, Henry, Ginny Gibbs
  • The recently departed: Pat Fisher
  • Those whose anniversary of death falls at this time:
    • Janet Myerson, Alexander Smith, Molly Clark, Harry Goode,
    • the children and adults of the Aberfan disaster 50 years ago

Silent Prayer Meeting Monday October 24th at 8pm
We need silence to help us to get a proper perspective on our lives; to hear the still, small voice of God, and to refresh our inner being. All are welcome to these meetings of any faith or none. Each meeting starts in the church hall with some simple relaxation exercises, a short passage from the Bible to reflect upon in the half hour of silence, followed by a time of sharing of our experiences if people wish. James

Lighthouse Representative Required
Lighthouse is an enormously successful Christian holiday week for children at the start of the summer holidays. Currently there is no representation from this church on the committee which meets once a month, alternating between Monday and Tuesday evenings. The main role is to act as a point of communication with the rest of the congregation so that as a church we can fully play our part in this holiday week. If you would like to find out more information then please speak to Ann Myers or James.
