Prayer for the week:
The bread you give, O God, is Christ's flesh for the life of the world; the cup of his blood is your covenant for our salvation. Grant that we who worship Christ in this holy mystery may reverence him in the needy of this world by lives poured out for the sake of that kingdom where he lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.

Your prayers are asked this week for:

  • The victims of the horrific fire in West London. For all who are injured, bereaved and homeless, and for those who feel anger or despair.
  • The formation of a new government, that Gospel values may be the hallmark of all political decision making
  • The sensitive construction of factories to avoid the natural environment and wildlife being spoiled
  • Hearing dogs for deaf people
  • Peel Court (PR) Hampden Gate & Hampden Road (Sp)
  • Those who are in need in our parish:
    • Joan Ballance, Pam Johnson, Eddie Evans
  • And also further afield for:
    • Alastair, Katy, Georgina Cole, Ginny Gibbs, Rob, David Dewick, Alex Chauhan and Cathy Owen
  • The recently departed: Vera Byrne
  • Those whose anniversary of death falls at this time:
    • Mollie Whyte, Richard Millard, Jean Pritchard

Please remember the charities that the parish supports:
Rennie Grove House Hospice Care - a charity providing care and support for patients in Herts and Bucks diagnosed with life-limiting illness www.renniegrove.org

Triple Edition of the Pew Sheet
Next week there will be a triple edition of the pew sheet to cover June 25th/July 2nd/July 9th. Please bear in mind the shortage of space and the need to forward plan when submitting notices.

‘Open House’ – The Ten Commandments

The first two meetings take place from 8.00pm to 9.30pm at the Rectory on; Monday June 19th and Monday July 17th. It’s not compulsory to attend every evening as the course has been designed so that people can ‘dip in and out’ as they please. Please do chat to me if you’re not sure as to whether this might be suitable for you or simply come along on the evening. James

Thank you to everyone who has provided cakes and volunteered to serve cream teas on the weekend afternoons from 2.30-4.30. This is greatly appreciated and helps to attract even more visitors to the church. If you haven’t had a chance to bake a cake this time or would like to make another then more will be needed for the Chandos Ensemble on July 9th. More details to follow next week. Cathy and James

Lighthouse Representative
We need to find a person to go on to the Lighthouse committee on behalf of St. Dunstan’s to help in co-ordinating this Christian holiday week for children. You do not need to be especially gifted at working with children as roles are very varied and include car parking, administration and security to name but a few. If you are interested in joining the Lighthouse Team please let James know.

New PCC secretary required
The primary functions are taking minutes for the PCC and its Standing Committee, preparing for the Annual Meetings, along with about 1 hour of administrative tasks each month. If you are interested in finding out more please speak with Keith Gibbons or James

Stewardship Responses
Thank you very much to everyone who has so far returned their stewardship leaflets. People have been very thoughtful and generous and all of the offers of help both financially and practically are greatly appreciated. James

Theft of lead from Churches
There has recently been a theft of lead from a Buckinghamshire church. Please could everyone be extra vigilant. Please be especially aware of older small cars “casing the joint” by day (often women or couples). If suspicious please note number plates as the police have a very sophisticated on-operation going. Thank you, James

Volunteer readers at Monks Risborough School
I realise that not everyone’s offer of help has yet been fully processed. If you are still waiting to hear from the school please let me know and I will follow this up for you. Equally if you have started listening to children read then I’d be delighted to hear of your experiences so far. James
