Prayer for the week:
Holy Spirit, gift of the Father: pour out afresh the fullness of your gifts, renew the face of the earth, and revive your Church with Pentecostal fire through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Your prayers are asked this week for:

  • The victims of the bomb blasts in Manchester and Kabul: for all who have been killed, injured bereaved or traumatised by these acts of terrorism

  • Those who are in need in our parish:

‘Open House’ – The Ten Commandments
Over the next few months on a variety of evenings there will be an opportunity to take a fresh look at The Ten Commandments as part of the Pilgrim Course. By and large the commandments can be split in to two categories: the first ‘tablet’ deals with our obligations and relationship to God and the second ‘tablet’ deals with our obligations and relationships to other people. The first two meetings take place from 8.00pm to 9.30pm at the Rectory on; Monday June 19th and Monday July 17th. It’s not compulsory to attend every evening as the course has been designed so that people can ‘dip in and out’ as they please. Please do chat to me if you’re not sure as to whether this might be suitable for you or simply come along on the evening. James

Churches Together in Risborough
We need to find another person to help represent St. Dunstan’s at meeting of Churches Together in Risborough. It is not an onerous role and involves four meetings a year and having an interest in working with other denominations. If you would like to find out more please speak with Margaret Pitman or James.

New PCC secretary required
The primary functions are taking minutes for the PCC and its Standing Committee, preparing for the Annual Meetings, along with about 1 hour of administrative tasks each month. If you are interested in finding out more please speak with Keith Gibbons or James

A little book of guidance
I have been made aware of a series of books under the title ‘A Little Book of Guidance’. Titles and authors include ‘where on earth is heaven’ (Paula Gooder); ‘why go to church’ (John Pritchard) and ‘why does God allow suffering’ (Robin Gill). They are only 50 pages long, cost £3.99 on Amazon and are an excellent and insightful read on a variety of issues that enable people of faith or no faith to look for answers to life’s biggest questions. Please do order one or more of these books. James

More grass cutters required for the churchyard
We are just about keeping on top of the maintenance of the churchyard at the moment with the demands of cutting the grass. We therefore need two or three more people to take on the responsibility of cutting a section of the churchyard. The church has modern mowers that cope very well with the slightly rougher terrain of the churchyard as well as strimmers. The approximate time commitment between March and November is about 2-3 hours a fortnight. If you are interested in helping out please can you let James know.
