TRIPLE EDITION

Sunday 25th June 2017

Second Sunday after Trinity

As we worship the Lord, let us hold the psalmist’s words in our hearts, praying for vision and courage to proclaim through our words and actions Christ’s loving Gospel message to all creation.

10.00am Parish Communion
Hymns: 58, 636, 19
Psalm: 68 v30-37
Communion: 496, 610, 938

First Reading Jeremiah 20:7-13
Jeremiah accuses God of filling him with prophecies he is compelled to utter

Second Reading Romans 6:1b-11
A commitment to following Christ involves dying to the self and its worldly demands, but this is a matter for solemn celebration, not lament.

Gospel Matthew 10:24-39
Openly, explicitly witnessing to the Gospel will bring profound costs, but Jesus assures us that a deepening relationship with God will provide greater compensation.

6.00pm Owlswick Evensong
Readings: 1 Samuel 24.1-17, Luke 14. 1, 7-14
Hymns: 485, Psalm 46, 468, 457, 249

Sunday 2nd July 2017

Third Sunday after Trinity

In today’s Gospel Jesus tells us of our need to receive the people whom God sends to us. Let us then open our hearts to God and seek to be receptive as we worship.

Readings: 2 Chronicles 33.9-13, Luke 15.1-10

10.00am All Age Family Communion

Hymns: 572, Psalm 27, 455, 691

Sunday 9th July 2017

God’s nature and mercy are revealed in the person of Jesus Christ. So we come to worship in response to Christ’s invitation to walk with him and learn from him.

Lighthouse Representative
We need to find a person to go on to the Lighthouse committee on behalf of St. Dunstan’s to help in co-ordinating this Christian holiday week for children. You do not need to be especially gifted at working with children as roles are very varied and include car parking, administration and security to name but a few. If you are interested in joining the Lighthouse Team please let James know.

Stewardship Responses

Thank you very much to everyone who has so far returned their stewardship leaflets. People have been very thoughtful and generous and all of the offers of help both financially and practically are greatly appreciated. James

Volunteer readers at Monks Risborough School
I realise that not everyone’s offer of help has yet been fully processed. If you are still waiting to hear from the school please let me know and I will follow this up for you. Equally if you have started listening to children read then I’d be delighted to hear of your experiences so far. James
