We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.

Sustaining the Sacred Centre
Once again we hope you will support the various services during August under the umbrella of ‘Sustaining the Sacred Centre.’ Each day there is a short service of approximately 20 minutes to complement the existing services already held.

The additional services will be at St Dunstan’s on Friday evenings (8.00 pm) and late Saturday afternoons (5.00 pm) and, as before, on Tuesday evenings (6.00 pm) there will be a ‘Service of Reflection’ at St Peter’s, Owlswick.

The services, especially at Owlswick will reflect on the life and writings of Mother Julian of Norwich, a 14th Century woman of prayer who had a remarkable life and who wrote about her experiences of God in a book, still available, known as “Revelations of Divine Love.” What she learned is still relevant for us today. James and Rob

New Book Group
I am thinking of starting a book group beginning in September which would meet once a month on a Monday evening in the church hall. If you enjoy reading and would like to join me, please let me know. Sue Ingram 01844 275287 / 07786 986823 / suemingram@hotmail.com

Bucks County Show, Thursday 29th August

Rev. Jenny Edmans is once again organising the Rest-a-While Marquee at the Bucks County Show on Thursday 29th August.  This is always very well supported by attendees of the Show and Jenny is now organising the cakes and rota for the marquee and is asking for 20 cakes from each Deanery and volunteers to serve and chat to people on the day.  These are slots of one hour from 10.00am to 4.00pm. She needs hosts (to chat to people and clear tables) – two people for each of the following slots: 10.00am – 11.00am; 11.00am – 12 noon; 12 noon – 1.00pm; 1.00pm – 2.00pm. In addition she needs people to help serve the teas, coffee and cake throughout the day.

Volunteers can claim £5 towards the entrance cost to the show ground. Jenny is going to contact people who have helped in the past but she would be delighted if new people came forward to help! Her e-mail address is   jennyedmans@aol.com
