Prayer for the Week
Almighty and eternal God, to Jesus Christ the first-born from the dead, you have granted everlasting dominion and a kingship that shall not pass away. Remove from us every desire for privilege and power, that we may imitate the sacrificial love of Christ our King and, as a royal and priestly people, serve you humbly in our brothers and sisters. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.
Your prayers are asked this week for:
- Olly Cay, Amy Greenlees and Jocelyn Baxter being confirmed today
- All those caught up in the unrest in Gaza; that the ceasefire will hold and that a lasting peace may be realised.
- Church unity following the vote in General Synod about women bishops that those who disagree will find points to agree on, places to meet and try to understand other people’s points of view.
- All those affected by this week’s flooding that they may receive help for their loss of homes and possessions.
- Speen CE First School, its pupils, staff, head and governors.
- Residents of: Sawmill Road (L) Springwood (Sp)
- Those in need who are known in our parish:
- and also further afield for:
- Gordon Haynes, Joan and Bill Male, Richard Irvine, Alastair
- The recently departed: John Jolley
- Those whose anniversary of death falls at this time:
- Sheila Benham, Margaret Martin, Dorothy Pine, Lily Barraclough
Please remember the charities that St Dunstan's supports, in particular this week:
ROPE - Relief for Oppressed People Everywhere
Combating oppressive poverty across the world and striving to change the lives of the poor.

Do Nothing. Christmas is coming by Bishop Stephen Cottrell
Christmas is one of the most joyful times of the year. It can also be one of the most stressful. So rather than a chocolate Advent calendar, this small book offers you an Advent calendar with a difference. From 1st December all the way through to Christmas Day, you are given short, practical and entertaining steps that you can take each day to slow down, take time out- and enjoy getting ready for Christmas. £4.50 from Rosemary 344417
Carol singing in the Market Square, Fri November 30th

can make it and the actual events starts on Friday November 30th at 6 pm with the local churches being first on. James
Volunteers Required – St Dunstan’s Leaf Sweep
Saturday Dec 1st from 9.30am to 12.30pm. We are looking to clear the fallen leaves from the churchyard and to carry out some general tasks such as pruning trees and maintaining paths. We can provide some tools but if you can bring any yourself that would be extremely helpful. We hope you can make it. James.
P.S. Rosemary (344417) will be supervising the making of the Christingles in the hall on the same morning for the service the next day. If you can help out with this please let her know. More details and timings to follow.
Singers required for Nine Lessons and Carol Service
December 16th 6.00pm. To help give greater depth to the lower line of music it would be really great if two or three men would volunteer to come along to the choir practices on Thursday evening at 6.30 and then sing at this service. An ability to follow a tune or read music would be helpful. Please speak to Sarah, Rowena or James if you’re interested.
