God of goodness and kindness, you invite all peoples to the banquet and offer them a feast beyond compare.  Give us you saving grace to keep unstained the robe of our baptism until that day when you welcome us to heaven’s joyful table.  We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Prayer for the Week
O God, whose image we bear and whose name we carry, yours is the world and all it contains.  Recall us to our true allegiance, so that above the powers and rulers of this world you alone may claim our fullest loyalty and love.  We make our prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen

Leaflet Responses
If you would like to contribute to the life of St. Dunstan’s or St. Peter’s with one of the suggested tasks in the recently distributed leaflet, or set up/amend your standing order, please return the leaflet to the Rectory as soon as possible.

The Bethany House Group
The Bethany House Group continues to meet fortnightly on Wednesday October 8th and 22nd at 10.30 am to 12 noon at the home of Mrs. Su Viney, 76 Westmead. Sessions will cover some of the ‘minor’ prophets: led by Rose Williams. Further details are available on the card leaflet on the table.

St. Dunstan's Fellowship

On Thursday 9thOctober, Ken Brazier will speak about “Cycling the route to Compostela”. Everyone is welcome. Please meet in the Church Hall at 8pm.  
Refreshments - Valerie Edwards & Sheila Hunnisett.
Knit-ins will be in the Church Hall on the 4th Thursday (October 23rd) of each month at 2.00pm. The next walk is on Tuesday 28th October – please meet in the layby off the A4010 at 9.15am.

World's Biggest coffee morning

Thank you to all those who came on Friday, or came in after the service last Sunday who gave so generously. I have paid in the good sum of £260. THANK YOU. June Timms.

Family Bonfire Night suitable for All Ages, Saturday November 1st 5.30pm - 7.30pm approx.
This will take place at 32 Summerleys Road, Princes Risborough. Hot chocolate, mulled wine, hot soup and cakes will be served. Please bring ONE firework (not too loud!) or a cake. RSVP Sue Ingram, 275287 or suemingram@hotmail.com.

‘Time to Remember’ Service, Sunday November 2nd at 3.00pm
This service contains well-known hymns and prayers as we cherish the memories of those we love but see no longer. There will be refreshments at the end of the service. A board will be left in the church nearer the time for the names of those to be remembered to be written in BLOCK capitals

St. Dunstan’s churchyard leaf sweep and maintenance
At 9.00 am on Saturday November 8th and Saturday December 6th we are looking to clear the fallen leaves from the churchyard and to carry out some general tasks such as pruning trees and maintaining paths. We can provide some tools but if you can bring any yourself that would be extremely helpful. James

Confirmation service at St. Dunstan’s
On Sunday November 23rd at 6 pm there will be a confirmation service at St. Dunstan’s led by the Bishop of Buckingham, Alan Wilson. Confirmation marks an important stage in the Christian journey and has often been the entry point to receive Holy Communion. There are separate preparation sessions for children and adults as below: children: 2.30-4.30 at The Rectory on Saturday November 8th and Saturday November 15th; adults: 10.00-11.30 at The Rectory on Friday November 7th and Friday November 14th.
There will be a rehearsal for candidates on Sunday November 23rd at 4.30pm which ought to leave plenty of time before the service itself starts at 6 pm. If you are interested in being confirmed please let James know.
