Palm Sunday

We each have a mission, a role to play, whether we think we know what that is or not. We are also blessed with the gifts and talents to succeed in that mission. Let us humbly commit ourselves to the loving service of God.

10.00am Parish Communion starting in the A4010 lay-by with the procession of palms followed by the Passion Narrative in church

Hymns: 583, 337, 663
Psalm: 31v10-20
Communion: 420, 342, 938

First Reading Isaiah 50:4-9a
God blesses us with gifts, gives us the strength and courage to spread the word and serve God, however difficult it may be. If we stay true, God will vindicate our honour.

Second Reading Philippians 2:5-11
Humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less. Christ humbled himself for the benefit of all humanity. Can we imitate that humility?

Gospel Luke 22:14 – end of 23
The themes of service and humility are personified in Jesus as he institutes the Eucharist on the night before his death.

6.00pm Evensong
Hymns: 258, Psalm 69 v30-end, 516, 327
Readings: Isaiah 5 v 1-7, Luke 20 v 9-19

Stewardship Letter
Last year the parish accounts showed a deficit of about £30,000 and this year’s deficit is projected to be about £26,000. A letter will be going to members of the congregation in the next couple of weeks explaining all of this in further detail so that people can make an informed decision about their financial giving to St. Dunstan’s/St. Peter’s. The average weekly outgoings of the church are about £2,500 and the average Sunday collection at services about £250. James

An ‘annual meeting pack’ is available in an orange cardboard box near to the main entrance door for people to read beforehand. This information can also be found on the website. Please make every effort to attend and if you’re not able to make it please let Douglas Miller know on 01844 343206 douglas@pipersloft.co.uk If you’re not able to come to the meeting it would be helpful to return the ‘annual meeting pack’ to save on production costs. Thank you. James
