Prayer of the week
O God, your name is veiled in mystery, yet we dare to call you Father; your Son was begotten before all ages, yet is born among us in time; your Holy Spirit fills the whole creation, yet is poured forth now into our hearts. Because you have made us and loved us and called us by name, draw us more deeply into your divine life, that we may glorify you rightly, through your Son, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.

Your prayers are asked for:

  • The victims of the Egyptian airliner; for their families and friends that they may find comfort in their bereavement and answers to their questions.
  • All students facing exams, that they may face these calmly and confidently, and achieve the success they deserve.
  • The Nigerian girls kidnapped two years ago: that more of them may be found and returned to their families safe and well.
  • Those who are in need in our parish:
  • And also further afield for:
    • Alastair, Katy, Georgina Cole, Robert, Dave Skinner
  • The recently departed: Tess Freier
  • Those whose anniversary of death falls at this time:
    • William Plater, Pat Warne

Please remember the charities that the parish supports:
The Whitechapel Mission is dedicated to providing a lifeline to men and women caught in the cycles of poverty, hopelessness and dependencies of many kinds, and to see their lives transformed to hope, joy and lasting productivity.                        www.whitechapel.org.uk

Stewardship Letter

Thank you very much for all the replies regarding financial giving to St. Dunstan’s/St. Peter’s. There have been generous one-off donations as well as significant sums pledged in standing orders of over £6,500 per annum. The aspiration is to increase the giving by standing order by £22,000 so that the church does not continue to run at a deficit for the foreseeable future. If you have not yet given this matter your consideration, please can I encourage you to do so. James
