Prayer of the week
You have blessed all generations, O God most high, in Jesus, our compassionate Savior, for through him you invite us to your kingdom, welcome us to your table, and provide us with nourishment in abundance. Teach us to imitate your unfailing kindness and to build up Christ's body, the Church, by generously handling on to others the gifts we have received from your bounty. We ask this though our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.

Your prayers are asked for:

  • All those who will vote in the forthcoming EU referendum, that they will make the right decision for the people of this country, Europe and the world.
  • The men, women and children who have been victims of terrorism, for all are forced to live as refugees
  • Smaller nations being exploited by large companies in using up their precious resources and without a fair distribution of the wealth generated
  • Westmead (MR) Lacemakers Court (PR), Longwick Road (PR & L)
  • Those who are in need in our parish:
  • And also further afield for:
    • Alastair, Katy, Georgina Cole, Robert, Dave Skinner
  • The recently departed:
  • Those whose anniversary of death falls at this time:
    • Frederick Moore, Jan Forrest, Barry Fisher, Raymond East, Enid Phillips, Keith Janes

Stewardship Letter
Thank you very much for all the replies regarding financial giving to St. Dunstan’s/St. Peter’s. Since my announcement a couple of weeks ago there has been a flurry of one-off donations and the standing orders now amount to over £7,000 per annum. This is a significant sum of a money and I wish to say ‘thank you’ to all those who have responded so far. The original aspiration was to increase the giving by standing order by £22,000 per annum so the PCC will now to review the church’s financial situation at its meeting on June 6th to try to ensure that the church does not continue to run at a deficit for the foreseeable future. If you have not yet given this matter your consideration, it is not too late to do so. James

Governor vacancy at Monks Risborough School
A strong, well-led governing body, supportive of the school, its teachers and its mission makes an important contribution to a school’s wellbeing and effectiveness.
There is one vacancy at Monks Risborough Church of England School as a ‘foundation’ governor that as part of its brief has a particular care for the school’s Christian character. If you interested in finding out more about this role please speak with James.

God of truth, give us grace to debate the issues in this referendum with honesty and openness. Amen.
