Prayer of the Week
God, our refuge and strength, bring near the day when wars shall cease and poverty and pain shall end, that earth may know the peace of heaven through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Your prayers are asked for:

  • Families which have been torn apart by violence and insecurity in Mosul, Aleppo and all other towns and cities where war and violence threaten their very existence
  • The United States of America, that the forthcoming presidential elections might give the country the best possible leader in the search for justice, peace and freedom for all peoples
  • The people of the United Kingdom as we discern our future in the light of the Brexit vote, that we might make the right decisions and choices for ourselves, for Europe and for the world.
  • All the victimised members of our society, for those who are stereotyped as being our enemies
  • Hospital chaplains and chaplaincy volunteers at Stoke Mandeville, High Wycombe and Amersham.
  • Millstream Close (PR) Greenlands & Woodfield (LG)
  • Those who are in need in our parish:
    • Joan Ballance, Pam Johnson, Richard Allwood, Pat Kimber
  • And also further afield for:
    • Alastair, Katy, Georgina Cole, Robert, Henry, Ginny Gibbs, Rob, David Dewick
  • The recently departed: Dave Skinner
  • Those whose anniversary of death falls at this time:
    • Vi Broderick, Pam Gordon

Please remember the charities that the parish supports:
Christian Aid is an international development charity. We work with people, of all faiths and none, in around 50 countries, to eradicate poverty. www.christianaid.org.uk.

Lighthouse Representative Required
Lighthouse is an enormously successful Christian holiday week for children at the start of the summer holidays. Currently there is no representation from this church on the committee which meets once a month, alternating between Monday and Tuesday evenings. The main role is to act as a point of communication with the rest of the congregation so that as a church we can fully play our part in this holiday week. If you would like to find out more information then please speak to Ann Myers or James.
