Prayer for the Week

O God, at whose bidding the seed will sprout and the shoot will grow towards full stature, hear the prayer of your assembled people.  Make us trust in you hidden ways, that we may pray with confidence and wait for you kingdom now growing in our midst.  We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Your prayers are asked this week for:

  • Those to be ordained priest or deacon this Petertide
  • Peace and stability in countries such as Syria, Greece and Egypt
  • Improved relationships between the media and political parties as the Leveson Inquiry continues
  • The waste of people’s lives in the switching of manufacturing from one country to another and those who have been made unemployed through “downsizing”
  • Those who are homeless or suffering from housing stress.  Those unable to afford housing in this area.
  • Residents of Park Street (PR),  Chapel Hill (Sp)
  • Those in need who are known in our parish:
  • and also further afield for:
    • Gordon Haynes; Joan Male; Richard Irvine; Sally Maddox; Sarah, Matt and Riley; Emma, Matt and Olivia
  • The recently departed:
  • Those whose anniversary of death falls at this time particularly:
    • Brian Gatensbury, Sir Patrick Astley-Cooper, Terry Bellamy, Gladys Collier, Evelyn Plater.
Please remember the charities that St Dunstan's supports, in particular this week:
Iain Rennie Hospice at Home, offering specialist and supportive care and advice for patients with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses in their homes.
