Prayer for the week
God of internal glory, you anointed Jesus your servant to bear our sins, to encourage the weary, to raise up and restore the fallen. Keep before our eyes the splendour of the paschal mystery of Christ, and, by our sharing in the passion and resurrection, seal our lives with the victorious sign of his obedience and exaltation. We ask this through Christ, our liberator from sin, who lives with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, holy and mighty God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Your prayers are asked in the coming week for:

  • Those who lost their lives in this week’s tragic plane crash, their families and friends and all who are involved in the recovery operation.
  • The various political parties: for honest and fair campaigning in the run up to the General Election
  • Groups that bring the Bible to new people and cultures, especially the work of Bible translators.
  • Monks Risborough CE Combined School, its pupils, staff, head and governors
  • St. Johns Court (PR) Cottage Farm Waye (Sp)
  • Those who are in need in our parish:
  • And also further afield for:
    • Joan Male, Bill Male, Alastair, Uncle Frank, Katy, Albert and Georgina Cole, Gillian Brady, Jane, Denis
  • The recently departed: David Stevens
  • Those whose anniversary of death falls at this time:
    • Francis Butt, John Newport, Eric Nish.
